Although glue is a great tool to have around the house, it’s a little more challenging to find a good glue for underwater use.

There are many reasons why an adhesive would need to be used underwater. Pools and aquariums may require glue to be used fixing equipment in place or repairing equipment without using it out of the water.

Not all glues can harden in a water environment though. Additionally, not all glues for underwater use will adhere to every surface.

Loctite Marine Epoxy

This adhesive is permanent and waterproof.

It contains two parts so it’s a great choice for any projects that require a high bonding strength. The adhesive can be applied and cured underwater. It can also be used on glass, wood, metal, and most common materials.

The dual syringe can be used to resin and hardener before applying to the surfaces needed. It has a set time of 2 hours and will cure in 24 hours. Keep in mind that this epoxy is resistant to solvents, and impact so it may not be ideal if you need to remove the bonded items in the future.

Mr. Sticky’s Underwater Glue

This glue combines the binding power of epoxy with the resiliency of rubber to achieve a firm bond. Unlike most adhesives, it will stretch with the bonded materials so this is a good choice when you need some flexibility with the bond.
